It's that time...
Why does it seem that those least qualified get accolades and promotions while those who would truly shine get left behind?
Similarly.....
Why do those who do all the work get more dumped on them, while the incompetent get a free ride? If you can't handle the work, shouldn't you be let go?
I guess if that were the case, we would have to replace most politicians and CEO's.....

Welcome back to Why? Wednesday
When did Illinois become a semi-monarchy? Senate President Emil Jones is retiring, but rather than utilize the democratic process, he wishes his son be appointed to fill the position. Huh? This is similar to how we got stuck with Todd Stroger as Cook County Board President, when his father became ill. Why do people accept this? Were I in the UK, or one of several other dynastic nations, I could accept this, but in the United States, where we revolted against such a form of government, why are we allowing this to occur?

Well, it was a weekend
Friday night we ended up going up to the North Side and hitting the Granville Anvil (don't even ask) and then Jackhammer. Might I just say, Jaegermeister is the devil! But I did kick some ass in darts! Oddly, the little Asian man mentioned in an earlier post was also at Jackhammer, this time in just a leather jock. Afterwards it was off to the gayest IHOP in the world, and home to pass out at 5:00 a.m.
Saturday saw a bright, sunny, mildly hungover day. Things did not go quite as planned thanks to a flat tire taking much longer than it should have to take care of. This also led to my sunburn...
Afterward, we did find a good grill and sushi bar called G-In, in Tinley Park. The Lovers Tray was delicious! Cold Stone Creamery provided desert on the way home :-)
Sunday was a laid-back day, with the now traditional breakfast at Blueberry Hill.
After breakfast, Reggi and his friend went to the Nature Centre, while Michael and I hit the grocery store, went home to prep for the cook out. Dinner turned out well, with steak, chicken, hot Italian sausages, roasted corn on the cob, coleslaw, tossed salad, grilled eggplant, Coronas, and Malibu and OJ's.
My weekends seem to be getting busier and busier. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

The weekend is here!
Well, the weekend is finally here! Actually, for me in a way it started yesterday since I ended up working from home due to network problems at the office. One great thing about working from home is, if you are good at multi-tasking, you can get your work done AND things like laundry, thus freeing up your weekend.
I have no idea what this weekend has in store for me yet. I ran my errands earlier today, and did my grocery shopping last night, so there isn't much in the "Things to Do" category. The Air and Water Show is this weekend, but I am not really all that motivated to go to it. Michael should be here in a few hours, so hopefully he will have some suggestions.
More later….

Why is it only Wednesday?
Why does it seem college students, and some instructors for that matter, seem to get less and less intelligent with each passing semester?
Why is it never a parent's fault their child acts like a Banshee out of Hell?
and finally.....
Why is it "Oh no! Never my baby!" when there is violence reported on the news?
Discuss amongst yourselves, and feel free to comment below.....

I know, I know...
I haven't forgotten about the blog, it's just that I finally have a life again! :-) So, I am actualizing my one goal, and somewhat ignoring my other one.
So, where to begin? In the past several weeks I have befriended a guy, and things seem to be going well. I am being cautiously optimistic, but still really don't have much trust in my fellow man.
We have been spending a lot of time together, doing everything from movies and dinner to taking Alvin out for his birthday (8/1) DRU Crazee and Jeffrey Pub, to Market Days (was I the ONLY person in Chicago who didn't know about the little Asian guy who wanders about in tighty whities barefoot sniffing poppers??!!??), to just relaxing at home with cocktails and grilling.
I am already looking forward to autumn, and then going home for the holidays!
Stay tuned....I will update more often, I pinky swear ;-)
