19 Days to go...
Well, there are 19 days left until Election Day. Amazingly, there are still people who claim to be undecided. I am guessing these same people, with guns to their heads, would say they didn't know if they wanted life or death.
All it takes is a glance back at the past eight years, or into your bank balances, to see the clear choice. This country has been destroyed by eight years of Republican "leadership" and we cannot afford four more years of the same. As I mentioned in an earlier post, if you are swayed merely by "social" issues like abortion rights, gay rights, or gun control, it's time to take your head out of your (probably) oversized asses, and start realizing what really matters.
Speaking of politics, am I the only only who is just WAITING for either John McCain or Sarah Palin to have an "open mic" moment. I don't know if everyone has seen the ad below, but see if you can find the hidden racism..

The Sky Is Falling
Or at least, that is what the news is making it out to be...
The House just rejected the $700B bailout, and Wall Street has just shit its pants.
For those of you who thought back in 2004 that gay marriage was a good enough reason to vote away everything that ACTUALLY MATTERED such as the Iraq war, the economy, true national security, the ability to afford the necessities of life, I hope you are going to enjoy the soup lines...
For those geniuses who thought it was perfectly reasonable to take out an interest-only mortgage on a house that you KNEW you couldn't afford, with the greedy thought you would flip the property, I hope you don't find the shelters too much for you.
For too many (almost eight too many) years, America has done nothing but produce greed and debt, at its absolute core, probably for no other reason than insecurity over the size of someone's dick. Manhood was questioned, let's bomb something. Manhood was questioned, buy a sports car. Manhood was questioned, buy a McMansion.
For those still thinking that controlling what other people do (abortion rights, gay rights, etc.) is more important than the best interests of financial security, I hope you get what you deserve, but don't subject the rest of us to suffering for you being a busy body, too concerned with things that have no impact on you. (Since many such people are rather simple, here is the short bus version: Don't agree with abortion, don't have one. Don't agree with gay marriage, don't marry a gay person. Simple, isn't it?)

Welcome back to Why? Wednesday
I'm not quite sure if this will specifically be a Why? Wednesday, but here is something for you to ponder...
When did Illinois become a semi-monarchy? Senate President Emil Jones is retiring, but rather than utilize the democratic process, he wishes his son be appointed to fill the position. Huh? This is similar to how we got stuck with Todd Stroger as Cook County Board President, when his father became ill. Why do people accept this? Were I in the UK, or one of several other dynastic nations, I could accept this, but in the United States, where we revolted against such a form of government, why are we allowing this to occur?
