Speaking a little piece.....

Now, as some of you may know, there is a certain blogger whom I read regularly, basically because I look upon it as a train wreck manual on how not to live one's life. Well, lately, it has just been too much for myself, and others to not speak upon. Per his usual ways, this was his response to others comments.

Again, poor dear Timothy reverts back to his Cindy Brady bratty personae. Dear, my thing is this, if you can't take the fallout, don't post your nuclear fuckin waste! And if anyone would seriously take the time and energy to track down their readers by IP address, well, plainly, you need some help. I should of course mention that this is also a person, who at the age of 28, is still prone to throwing jump up and down tantrums, so should we really be surprised? Truth is ugly, and hurts don't it baby?

Rest assured dear HoD readers, such paranoia and censorship will never be a part of any interactions with the House. Feel free to comment in any way you choose, good, bad or ugly. We will love you just the same. Just be prepared to be called on what you say :-)

Happy Thanksgiving

Just a quick post to say Happy Thanksgiving. Off to the housemate's family's for dinner. Last night, hung out with my friend Al, and watched movies. A bottle of ouzo and a few Heinekens later, and this was me.......

I am thankful that I remembered the proper way to drink ouzo, so I don't have a hangover :-)

The best weekend in a while!!

Well, this past weekend turned out fantastic!!

Bought some new CD's. Picked up the new Madonna, which has to be one of her best in years. Got the new Floetry, which I am still trying to get into past Superstar. Finally got around to getting Common's most recent release, and finally, bought a single of Avenue D's Do I Look Like a Slut? Yes girl, you do, and so does someone else who may or may not still read this blog. Not only is fur murder, but you seems to be ho'in for more than some coins!

Movin on........

Got to spend Saturday night, and a considerable portion of Sunday with Evan. It was absolutely wonderful, despite a few minour bumps in the road. (And U turns when someone in our party forgot their ID after we were half way to the club!). Saturday we met up with two of Evan's friends, grabbed some Corona's, some other party favours, and hit this club up in Lake County. Afterwards, Evan and I retreated to the Hampton Inn, and spent some time together. It was so nice falling asleep in his arms again. I look forward to it becoming regular again.......

Sunday, after we finally got up, we went down to the city, hit a few stores, and grabbed a bite to eat. Then I dropped him at the train station, so he could get back up to Gurnee.

It was a great weekend. I felt comfortable just being me. Something I have not felt able to do in a very long time. It was nice not having to live up to expectations of how I should be, but rather just be me.

Despite past events, I truly feel fortunate to have Evan in my life, and pray things remain that way for a long time.......Pure, open honest communication truly is the key!

What the Fuck?

Ok, answer me this. Why is it that someone will respond to an online ad asking if you are interested in chatting, and then when you simply respond saying you WOULD BE interested in chatting, you NEVER hear from them again!!??!!

On a similar topic.....How can you very specifically state the type of person you are looking for, only to have the exact opposite respond to you? Either people can't read, refuse to read, or are completely stuck the fuck on stupid!!

But I'm not bitter..............LOL

Prissy?

Below is my correspondence to the window company. As a friend put it, the prissy white woman in me came out. They still have not installed the windows, and are saying Thursday they will, finally. What is it with this house and nothing going on time??

VIA FACSIMILE

Mr. Lloyd Gillman
The Window Guys
7421 W. Irving Park Rd
Chicago, IL 60634

Dear Mr. Gillman:

I am writing in reference to the unacceptable experience we have had with your company, and its idea of customer service. My housemate and I met with one of your sales representatives for a price quote for replacement windows, and at that time, informed him that we were getting quotes for 3 companies, as is a good practice with any majour purchase. He was trying way too hard with the “hard sell” technique, which quite honestly put your company behind from the outset. We then received a call, asking if a “manager” could come to re-measure, and perhaps give us a better price. We allowed this, thinking perhaps the first sales representative was an aberration from your staff. After dealing again with a hard sell technique, we informed this second representative of your company that we were extremely off put by your company’s sales methods. After a bit of salving, we nonetheless decided you seemed to have a good product, and signed a contract.

Then came the final measurements, and the assigning of the install date. We were told, and it was written on the form, Saturday, November 11th. Since that is not a correct date, the 11th being Friday, Saturday being the 12th, we called to verify the correct install date, and were first told Friday the 11th. A short while after we were called and told Saturday the 12th. Doubting the competence of your employees at this point, we called on Monday the 7th to confirm installation on Saturday the 12th. The date was confirmed, and we took appropriate action as to time off, and scheduling our time in order to be home for the installation. We then received a voicemail yesterday at 11:39 AM on our home phone, even though both work numbers are on file with your company, indicating that the windows are not ready for installation. Had this issue been brought to our attention sooner, such as when we called to confirm the installation, we could have planned accordingly. Our entire experience with The Window Guys has been less than acceptable, and definitely does not come close to the customer service level you claim on your website and advertising. I can say whole heartedly that we will NEVER recommend you to anyone looking for windows.

As a side note, the attitude of your employee Eduardo Salazar is unbecoming someone who is supposed to be delivering customer service. As a customer service manager myself, I would never tolerate his attitude being demonstrated by one of my employees.

The courtesy of a response would be appreciated.

Regards,

Randall D. Bates

Poor Avery

Well, it is 1:00 AM, and I just got back from the doggie ER. Poor Avery, in her quest to try and get to my pizza, which was on top of the stove, got her claw stuck on the stove, and ripped it off. We couldn't stop the bleeding, and ended up rushing her to the 24 hour vet.

As you can see, she ended up with a fashionable pink bandage. Poor little House of Drama mascot :-(

Actually, Avery is the second of the pets to end up at the vet due to an attempt to get to the "people food". Back in 2001, Houdini (below) ended up with an extended stay at the vet after getting into the garbage, and eating an entire sheet of tin foil on which chicken had been baked. Tin foil is not a consumable LOL.

Should I even dare think that animal number three, Najinski will at some point do some similar act??

Jesus! Am I becoming a conspiracy theorist?!?!?

I don't know why, but for some odd reason, while driving home this evening, I had the strangest thought go through my mind. I was listening to a news piece on all of the rioting going on in various European cities and towns, and started to wonder.....

Thus far, it seems to be occuring in those countries that REFUSED to be a part of the Coalition of the Mislead. Does it really seem that farfetched to conceive of this Administration, in particular, "encouraging" some of this rioting? Especially considering the Liar in Chief is at his lowest poll nubers of his appointment.

It sort of make you think.........

I told you my commute was killer

Today, on my way to work, there was a majour, fatal accident on the tollway I take to work, I-294. A 76 year old woman was killed when her minivan was hit by a semi, which forced her into a semi in front of her, basically collapsing her vehicle, which then exploded, burning her car to the pavement, and catching the semi that rammed her on fire as well. In one news story, they said that they don't know what caused traffic to slow, causing the accident. As anyone who reads this regularly knows, the damned construction on all 50 miles of the tollway that I take on a daily basis causes all these damned slow downs and back ups. This occured right in the spot where the first backup of the day usually starts. It was just a matter of time. May her spirit rest in peace!

As a result of this accident, traffic was backed up for miles. I was stuck in the same spot for an hour, until the authorities were able to get a median open, and had all cars (not trucks, etc) do 3 point turns, and drive south on the northbound shoulder, till the opening in the median, till we could merge into the southbound side of the higway. Below are a few pictures I took with my phone. And yes, at one point the road was effectively stopped, with people walking around on the highway itself!

Weird Wednesday

All I want to do is SLEEP!!!!!

Monday I went and got my flu shot, and ever since, all I have wanted to do is sleep. Add to that the fact that another doctor put me on two medications that are just fucking with me, and I am a great big ole mess!! Of course, after I adjust to the new pills, I should be all good, but for now, I could pass as an extra in a George Romero flick! Gotta love sedatives!
